Saturday 11th March games
As it is a B & I Cup weekend the FIRST XV are not in action this Saturday although I know they are training hard ahead of our massive game against London Scottish next Saturday.
However the ground will be extremely busy as it is of course the England v Scotland 6 Nations match down the road at Twickenham KO 4pm and we have a full house for hospitality as well as plenty of our own rugby being played: the VIKINGS are at home to Esher II KO 12pm and the SAXONS take on Kew Occs KO 12.30pm.
The NORMANS, JUTES and HEAVIES are enjoying some time out

Sunday 12th March games
On Sunday the WOMEN are also taking time out.
The MINIS are hosting the annual Richmond Mini Festival which means parking at the ground will be restricted in the morning to those that have the necessary Festival Parking Permit. If you do not have one of these then you will need to park in the NCP car park over the A316 - there will be stewards on the gate from early on to control the position and I would ask for your cooperation so that the traffic flow is not backed up on the A316 which does not make us popular with the local authorities
YOUTH matches – U13A v London Irish at home in Old Deer Park KO 12pm, U14 v Wasps away, U16 v Battersea Ironsides away, U18B v Old Emanuel away

New Women’s Head Coach appointed
On the subject of the WOMEN I am delighted to report that Richmond have appointed  David Mobbs-Smith as the  new Head Coach of the women’s section  - he will lead a restructured coaching team for the forthcoming 2017/18 season in the new Womens Super Rugby competition. For further details click here for yesterday’s Press Release

Richmond Women feature in England team for Saturday
And good luck to our players, Kay Wilson and Alex Matthews who are starting for England in the Six Nations match v Scotland at Twickenham Stoop on Saturday KO 1pm – tickets are only £10 so it would be good to give them some Richmond type support if we can

Shop opening hours this weekend
The shop will not be open on Saturday as there is no First XV game. On Sunday it will be open from 9am until the slightly earlier closing time of 12.30pm

Richmond v London Scottish Saturday 18th March KO 2.30pm
Next  Saturday March 18th is of course the long awaited return match against London Scottish KO 2.30pm. I do hope the date and time is firmly in your diary as the lads need us all there in fine voice as they attempt to do the double over the Scots.
A reminder that as the pre match lunch is so big timings are 12pm for 12.15pm sharp with pre-lunch drinks in the Sports Bar - which will be open from 11am for early entertainment

As we get to the business end of the season I thought it would be helpful to provide some details of the last 3 games of the season:
Yorkshire Carnegie v Richmond SUNDAY March 26th KO 3pm
The team will be travelling by train to Leeds on the Sunday leaving from Kings Cross on the 10.10 with coach transfer to and from the ground and returning on the 18.45 from Leeds arriving Kings Cross 21.07

Richmond v Cornish Pirates Saturday 8th April KO 3pm
This is the last home game of the season and lunch is already almost sold out so if you wish to book in please let me know urgently to avoid disappointment

Jersey v Richmond EASTER Saturday 15th April KO 3pm
This will be the last game of a very eventful season and over Easter weekend too, and I know that many of you have already booked flights to Jersey combining such an auspicious occasion with a bit of R & R.
The team are travelling on the Friday and we would like to arrange a social gathering of all those that are there as well in support at the team hotel, The Merton on the Friday evening. The team will of course be in attendance and in order to gauge numbers would all those going to Jersey please indicate if they would like to join us – and I would stress that includes everyone - supporters, family, girlfriends, friends etc etc

Wine Tasting Dinner Thurs 16th March Members Bar 7pm Wine evening
A final call for the Richmond Rugby Wine Tasting Dinner with Rugby Q&A hosted by Peter Lunzer next Thursday 16th March in the Members Bar 7pm for 7.30pm
When buying wines the most important thing, we believe, is to know how they taste and especially when served with food so we will choose a handpicked collection including some Fizz, 2 White Wines, 3 Red Wines and Madeira  - all of which will be served with a specially selected three course dinner
Wines will be available for purchase and the competitive prices will include a commission paid to Richmond FC
Following Dinner there will be a 6 Nations Rugby Q&A with Peter Winterbottom MBE and Rob Henderson. On Saturday, 18th March the final games of the 6 Nations 2017 matches will all be played and England travel to Ireland (as do Peter & Rob) and in advance of this final day we will have a chance to quiz two of Rugby’s finest ambassadors on what has happened so far and what the final outcome might be.
Price per person is £60.00, fully inclusive but please RSVP by return as the dinner closes this week

Club Awards Dinner Friday 5th May
Further details will follow but please make sure Friday 5th May is in the diary as the Club Awards Dinner will be taking place and we have much to celebrate in what has been a huge learning curve of a season for every section of the club
