Jersey v Richmond Easter Saturday 15th April KO 3pm
This Saturday is of course the last game of a very eventful season and fresh from their superb victory over Cornish Pirates last week, the FIRST XV are off to Jersey to take on Jersey Reds KO 3pm
The team are travelling on Friday and as already advised there will be a social gathering of all those that are there as well in support at the team hotel, The Merton on the Friday evening. This will KO at 7.30pm and all are very welcome to attend – it promises to be a lively affair as nearly 100 of you have already booked in!
Before that we have been advised by Jersey that they are opening their Pavilion Bar from 5.30pm to 7.30pm for a meet and greet and again all are invited- click here for further details
And our sympathies to Jersey on the death on 24th March of their former President/Chairman, Chris Scott who was a good friend to Richmond as we made our way back up the leagues  - no doubt a glass or two will be raised in his memory over the weekend

Under U21 v KCS at Dorking RFC Easter Monday 17th April KO 2pm
On Easter Monday our mighty UNDER 21s play KCS in the Surrey Under 21 Cup final at Dorking RFC KO 2pm – and if any of you are over that way I know they would very much welcome the support. Good luck to them all

Easter closure – shop opening hours
This weekend is of course Easter and all the other men’s and women’s teams as well as the minis and youth are enjoying a very well-earned break and no doubt consuming vast amounts of chocolate.
The ground will therefore be closed on Friday, Sunday and Monday – although it will be open on Easter Saturday as London Scottish are playing Nottingham in their last game of the season. So the shop will be open on Saturday only between 12.30pm and 3pm and from 3.40pm until about 5pm

Although the First XV finish their season this weekend there are still a few more important matches to be played:
Vikings v Navy Wednesday 19th April KO 7.30pm
Next Wednesday 19th April the VIKINGS play their last match of the season at home against the Navy KO 7.30pm.
These floodlit games are always popular and it is a perfect opportunity to come and watch our Vikings who have given such magnificent support to the First XV throughout the season and always play outstanding rugby - no wonder they have won their league by a country mile.

Saxons v Wimbledon Saturday 22nd April
The SAXONS are also currently at the top of their league and will play their final league match next Saturday to hopefully secure the title, KO tba

Normans v Rosslyn Park Hatters  Friday 21st April KO 7.30pm
Another floodlit game as the NORMANS are through to the Zoo League Division 3 Final and will face Rosslyn Park Hatters at their ground next Friday evening KO 7.30pm

Club Awards Dinner Friday 5th May KO 7.30pm Members Bar
And then we are at the end of another momentous season in the club’s history  - and time to remind you of the Club Awards Dinner which this year is being held at the club on Friday 5th May KO 7.30pm for 8pm.
It is always a very popular and lively event and provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the whole club, with awards being made during the dinner to players from every section, men and women, from the U7s to the oldest Heavy, as well as recognising the coaches, managers and medical team that help keep the players on the field and the supporters/parents that inspire and cheer them on in all weathers.
The cost is at £24/students & Under 21, £31.50/players, coaches, managers, physios and £38.50/others - and includes a 3 course meal in the Members Bar. It is open to all (age over 18 years) – wives, girlfriends, partners etc – and dress code is No 1s.
Bookings are now open so call me on 0202 8332 7112 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
NB Those senior men players/support staff who are imminently due to depart on the Texas tour please book in before you go as when you get back will be cutting it fine!!

Club AGM Tuesday 13th June KO 7pm Members Bar
The final event of the 2016/17 season will be the Club AGM which will take place on Tuesday 13th June in the members Bar KO 7pm and the relevant Calling Notice will be sent out next month.
Please note that nominations for the position of President/Club Director need to be advised to me (Jen Gadsby Peet) by close of play Sunday 30th April

Albert Overton
It is with great sadness that I report the death of Albert Overton on 28th March.
Albert had supported Richmond for over 30 years and it was an integral part of his life particularly since his retirement. He was a familiar face on match days travelling all the way from Chatham, not an easy journey even when the trains are behaving themselves. He will be remembered with much affection by all his friends at Richmond and our sympathies go to his two sons, Steve and Roger and his family.
His funeral is being held at the Medway Crematorium, Kent Downs, Robin Hood Lane, Chatham, Kent ME5 9QU at 11:45am on Friday 21st April and all are welcome.

Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers
A reminder that the annual Sainsbury’s Active Kids promotion runs until 2nd May  - so if you are doing an Easter shop at Sainsbury’s either in store or on line, or buy petrol at their garages, then please do pick up the vouchers and let us have them. There is a collection box in the shop or you can send them to the club at the address below.
They can be exchanged for balls and other rugby equipment for our minis and youth sections and have proved an extremely valuable contribution to resources in the past.
