End of Season Round Up
It seems extraordinary that once again we are at the end of another season – and what a season it has been, right across the club, with so much to celebrate and commend

The FIRST XV took on the challenge of playing in the Championship as the only semi-professional club in the league – and finished 10th, staying up on their own merit despite the no relegation decision following London Welsh’s sad demise. It is a magnificent achievement and congratulations go to Will Warden and all of the players involved, not to mention our Director of Rugby, Steve Hill and his superlative team of coaches, medical and support staff.

The VIKINGS, SAXONS and NORMANS all won their leagues, The Shield Division 1, 2 and 3 North respectively whilst the JUTES joined The Shield Division 3 South. The HEAVIES proudly reclaimed the Surrey Vets title and the UNDER 21 won the Surrey Under 21 Cup.
Well done to all the players, coaches and support staff involved – a testament to the quality and depth of players that Richmond produces.

The Richmond WOMEN faced probably the most difficult season of their history, losing not only the Head Coach but also 16 of the First XV squad to Aylesford Bulls/Quins before the season began. However as you would expect those left faced that challenge with true Richmond grit and determination and not only did the WOMEN 1st and 2nd XV complete their seasons they were also successful in their bid to be part of the new RFU Womens Super Rugby competition which will replace the Premiership next season. Richmond is hugely indebted to Women’s Chair, Laura Kapo, Club Director, Laura Jenkins and every one of the coaches, committee members and above all the players who have stepped up to the mark so magnificently and made this happen.

Surrey Women v Berkshire Sunday 30th April KO 2pm
And talking of our women I would mention that although they may have finished their season at Richmond, 14 of them are in the Surrey match day squad to take on Berkshire this Sunday 30th April at London Irish Amateur RFC, Hazelwood Drive, Sunbury, TW16 6QU KO 2pm – and all support would be much appreciated

Our YOUTH and MINI sections have faced their own challenges with the introduction of Age Grade Rugby which has not been easy at times, but they have taken it in their stride as you would expect and our juniors continue to thrive. Again huge thanks are due to all the coaches, managers, parents and players who have put so much hard work and commitment into the sections

So another season to be proud of and thanks must go to all of you that have helped make it so - from the players to the coaches, managers, medical staff and support staff not to mention our Board members who give so unstintingly of their time as well as the volunteers, supporters and long suffering parents, wives, girl-friends, boy-friends, partners etc who have been there week in week out.
