The Heavies Foundation Lunch 2019 - Speakers Announced

We are delighted to announce three of our four speakers for the event. Sticking to our theme of a mixed sporting lunch we are excited to have found a great range of top athletes, who have a collection of sporting and personal experiences that are so pertinent for the lunch.

Graeme Swan

Graeme Swann

Graeme Swann is a former England cricketer who played all three formats of the game. He is one of England’s best bowlers in history. In December 2009 he became the first English spinner to take 50 wickets in a calendar year and was named ECB Cricketer of the Year. He retired in 2013, with 255 wickets in 60 tests. He was also a capable batsman with four first class centuries, he scored 7,811 runs in 252 first class matches, and 1,370 in 60 Test matches. He can also dance.

Greg Searle

Greg Searle is a British Olympic rower, who won Gold at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and Bronze in both Atlanta 1996 and London 2012. After winning an Olympic gold at the age of 20, Greg’s journey to victory at the London 2012 home games, 20 year later, is one of tenacity honesty and determination.
He also won a World Championships Gold Medal in 1993 with his brother, Jonny. He was awarded an MBE.

After his retirement as an international rower, Greg joined the British sailing team in the Americas Cup. His Nephew is in The Richmond First team Squad.
