Gallagher's Six-Year Club Sponsorship To Draw To A Close
Richmond Rugby has announced it is on the lookout for a new main sponsor, after confirming that its six-season partnership with Gallagher will conclude at the end of June when the existing agreement expires.
Gallagher, one of the world’s largest insurance brokers, risk management services and consulting firms, took over as title partner of Premiership Rugby at the start of the 2018/19 season with a multi-year agreement and will continue to focus its efforts on the elite end of the English game, while simultaneously supporting grassroots and community rugby through nationwide initiatives, such as its partnership with Project Rugby.
Richmond Rugby and Gallagher joined forces back in 2014 when the insurance broker came on-board as shirt sponsor for the Men’s, Women’s & Minis sections, with Gallagher then extending its initial two-year sponsorship twice to take the partnership to the end of the 2019/20 season.
Gallagher partnered the club when Richmond Rugby was awarded ‘Rugby Club of the Year’ at the National Rugby Awards in 2016, following the Women’s Premiership title and the Men’s National League 1 triumph. The partnership continued throughout Richmond’s three-year tenure in the Greene King IPA Championship.
Jimmy Wallace, the Club’s Commercial Director, commented: “We are incredibly grateful to the Gallagher team for the fantastic support they have shown us over the past six years. We have really enjoyed working alongside them to the mutual benefit of both parties and look forward to continuing our relationship with Gallagher as our insurance broker. We wish them every success with their ongoing sponsorship of Premiership Rugby.”
Richmond Rugby is now beginning the search for a new Main Sponsor.
