RICHMOND RUGBY STATEMENT: 2019/20 SEASON

While we are naturally disappointed to hear the news that the 2019/20 season has come to a premature end, we fully accept the RFU’s decision to cancel all remaining league, cup and county rugby in England.

This is an extremely challenging and uncertain period for us all and we must continue to follow the latest government advice and put the safety of our players, coaches, staff, members, supporters and volunteers first.

This decision means all remaining fixtures in 19/20 have now been cancelled. This includes our men’s and women’s senior fixtures and our mini/youth activity.

As a club we will await further information from the RFU (due mid-April) regarding the final league outcome for our men’s first-team in National League 1. We will also await more information regarding the re-tendering process for our women in the Tyrrells Premier 15s.

We will endeavour to keep you fully updated on the situation as it evolves via all our club channels, including our website and social media.

In the meantime, please stay safe, follow the latest government advice and look out for each other.

On behalf of everyone at Richmond Rugby, we would like to thank all our players, coaches, members, sponsors, supporters and club volunteers for their incredible support and commitment during the 2019/20 season.

We look forward to seeing you all back at the Athletic Ground before too long.
