One New Face In Richmond Squad For Hartpury Game

Richmond return to the RAG this week looking to make it two home wins from three games, and after late heartbreak cost them points in the last few games, they know an 80 minute performance will be needed against Hartpury in the first game of a double header – the women’s Premier 15s game kicks off straight after the men at 5pm.

Last season, Richmond did the double over Saturday’s visitors, so Hartpury won’t be short of motivation, particularly as both wins came with last minute plays. Having played three of their four matches at home so far this season, Hartpury have two wins to their name, and Richmond will be keen to ensure their away days bring less success.

Director of Rugby Steve Hill has tweaked his line-up for the game, with Luc Jones returning at scrum half after injury and Jordan Simpson-Hefft getting his first start of the season after impressing off the bench in recent weeks with his big carries.

After a huge performance at the set piece last week, it’s no surprise the pack remains unchanged, with Jesse Liston once again captaining from the back row, where Ed Milne and Jake Parker alongside him will look to cause trouble with ball in hand.

On the bench, meanwhile, it’s a first Richmond matchday appearance for Andrew Boyce. The former Worcester Warriors player joined the club from Loughborough Students, where he captained the side, and if he gets on the field on Saturday, he’ll be keen to make an impact in the back row.
