Richmond Ready For Gloucester-Hartpury Test

After tough outings against Wasps and Harlequins, Richmond head to the West country hoping to get a second win of the season against Gloucester-Hartpury. The hosts have the third best attack in the league, so Richmond’s tough defence will need to be on form to take anything on the road, but with the best defensive record in the bottom half of the table, Jonathan Griffin’s side have proved that they can stand up to anyone.

Griff has made four changes to the side as they look to finally string together the strong performances that have come in fits and starts. The front row remain unchanged, while Row Burnfield retains her spot in the second row where she is joined by club stalwart Claire Phelps to complete an experienced front five. Becky Ball, Grace Moore and Libby Povey make up a huge ball-carrying threat in the back row.

Tess Braunerova and Abi Chamberlain continue at half backs, while it’s Jade Wong and captain Vicki Jackson in the centres. Jess Wooden continues at full back, with Rachel Laqeretabua – fresh from her call-up to the England academy side – on one wing. On the other wing, meanwhile, Oli Davies returns to Richmond, and with over 150 caps under her belt, everyone is excited to see what she can bring to the side in her 19th season!
