Richmond Women Name Squad To Face Worcester

Richmond Women have named a strong 22-player squad to face Worcester Warriors Women in their first home fixture of the 2019/20 Tyrrells Premier 15s season (KO 5pm).

On an exciting afternoon at the Athletic Ground, with Richmond Men also in action against Rams from 3pm, Head Coach Mike Panoho has made nine changes to his squad following the 46-0 defeat against Saracens last Sunday.

The starting changes include powerful lock Hallie Taufoou replacing Sian Hobday in the number 5 shirt, Libby Povey moving to flanker in the absence of Sadia Kabeya and Jessica Wooden replacing Louise Burgess at fullback.

While in a major boost to Richmond’s confidence, captain Hannah Field has been selected to make her first appearance of the season at number eight.

Head Coach Mike Panoho said: “We are extremely excited to play our first home match of the season and very confident in the 22 players we have selected. Last week, despite the score-line, we were pleased with a number of improvements across our game. Our defence was far stronger and our intensity around the ball was much higher. We know Worcester are going to give us another huge challenge, but I am looking forward to seeing how our players respond.”

Richmond Women continue their 2019/20 Tyrrells Premier 15s season at the Richmond Athletic Ground tomorrow afternoon (Kick-off 5pm). CLICK HERE to buy your match tickets or purchase at the gate.
