Hannah Duffy Joins Richmond Women
Richmond Women are delighted to announce the signing of Saracens prop Hannah Duffy.
The 24-year-old, who first joined Saracens Women in 2018, has made the switch from North London to the Athletic Ground and is in line to make her Richmond debut tomorrow against DMP Sharks.
The powerful prop, who came off the bench for Saracens in their 2018/19 Tyrrells Premier 15s final victory over Harlequins, will add further fire power to the Richmond pack as they look to secure their second win of the season on Saturday.
Hannah, who studied physical education at the University of Chichester, started playing the game when she was just 11 and continued throughout her degree. Upon graduation, she joined Thurrock Ladies where she performed strongly, leading to her move to Saracens ahead of the 2018/19 season. She was also the vice-captain of the Essex Women’s squad which won the 2017/18 Gill Burns County Championship.
Upon joining Richmond Women, Hannah said: “I’m really excited for a new challenge at Richmond. They are moving in an extremely exciting direction and I can’t wait to be a part of what they’re building. One of the big factors in my move from Saracens is to have the opportunity to excel under their brilliant team of coaches and to continue improving my game under their leadership. I can’t wait to get my first opportunity to wear the Richmond shirt!”
Richmond Women’s Head Coach Mike Panaho said: “We’re delighted to have Hannah joining our programme. She will give us a huge amount of strength in our set piece and has the ability to carry the ball around the pitch confidently. She’s going to be a great addition to the pack and we are looking forward to seeing what she can deliver for Richmond.”
Richmond Women continue their 2019/20 Tyrrells Premier 15s season against DMP Sharks tomorrow afternoon at the Athletic Ground (Kick-off 5:00pm). Tickets can be purchased here.
