Richmond Name Squad To Face Cambridge

Richmond have named an exciting squad for Saturday’s away fixture against Cambridge (KO 2pm).

Despite sitting at the top of the National League 1 table, Richmond will arrive at Grantchester Road off the back of three successive defeats, following a dramatic loss to Plymouth last Saturday and close losses to Sale FC and Rosslyn Park in recent weeks. While the home side, who are placed 12th in the league, will be hoping to bounce back strongly following a 34-22 defeat against Chinnor last Saturday.

The Richmond forward pack features two changes following last week’s defeat with Charlie Gibbings replacing the injured Ross Grimstone at hooker and Tom Pashley earning a recall to the starting XV, in place of Andrew Boyce who will look to make an immediate impact from the bench.

In the backs, Jamie Gibbs and Tom Hodgson will continue their formidable partnership in the halves, while there’s a return for Louis Lynagh on the wing. At fullback the reliable Lewis Dennett replaces the injured Rob Kirby.

Those unavailable for selection due to injury include Toby Eaton, Aaron Bagwell, Jono Woodward, Hamish Graham, Oli Evans, Ronnie Mclean, Cam Hudson, James Catlin, Imad Bouhedjeur, Jack Allcock, Ben Rath, Rob Kirby, Ross Grimstone, Max Crawford and Toby Saysell.

There’s still plenty of room in the team coach for tomorrow’s away trip to Cambridge. If you would like to cheer the boys on and take your seat in the coach please email Kate today on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
