Richmond Rugby Pre-Season Kids Camp Tuesday 25th, Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th August U6 upwards
This is the final call for the ever popular Richmond Rugby kids pre-season rugby camp which will be run by Jack Heald and his coaching team at the ground next week on Tuesday 25th, Wednesday 286h and Thursday 27th August for age groups Under 6 upwards.
The cost is £100 for 3 days, 1 day £40 and timings are 9.30am to 3.30pm with a free T shirt on registration. A packed lunch and drinks are required.
The camp is run by talented and passionate RFU Level 2 & 3 qualified rugby coaches with each day full of fun packed activities aimed to improve running, passing and kicking skills and provide an excellent warm up before the season begins properly.
You do not have to be a Richmond member to participate as it is open to all boys and girls U6 upwards and for more information or to book a place please click here
And to encourage new members in this Rugby World Cup year we are delighted to offer all boys and girls, who are not returning RFC players, a 25% discount in year one of the annual playing membership fee if they subsequently join the club.
So if you know of anyone who may be interested please do spread the word and get them to come along, not only to the Camp but also to training once it starts again – and that is only just over 2 weeks away with Mini/Youth Registration Day on Sunday September 6th from 9.45am

RFC Pre-season games – Sat 22nd August/Sat 29th August
This Saturday 22nd August the senior men begin their warm up to the season with the FIRST XV travelling to play Old Albanian KO 3pm. The VIKINGS are off to play Bracknell KO 3pm whilst the SAXONS play old friends Chobham also away KO 2.30pm

Next Saturday 29th August the FIRST XV return home to play Bishop’s Stortford in the second of their pre-season friendlies whilst the VIKINGS and SAXONS and possibly the NORMANS also have pre-season friendlies, all at home, as well as the WOMEN 1st XV - so it promises to be a very lively afternoon and all are invited to come along to view the old and new talent on show as well as catch up with friends after the summer break.
The bars will of course be open and a BBQ will be on going to provide more substantial fare. Further details as to timings etc will follow next week

Plymouth Albion v Richmond Sat 5th September KO 3pm
The season proper begins on Saturday 5th September and the FIRST XV do not have an easy start as the first game is away to Plymouth Albion who have just come down from the Championship and will no doubt be intent on getting back up there as quickly as possible.
Match KO will be at 3pm and the team will be travelling by train catching the 9.06 from Paddington arriving 12.26, with coach transfer to and from the ground, and returning on the 19.18 from Plymouth arriving Paddington 22.28.
For those who are making the long journey South West if you wish to book in for the pre-match lunch then email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or phone 01752 565064

Richmond V Hull Ionians Sat 12th September KO 3pm
The first home game of the new season will be on Saturday 12th September when the FIRST XV welcome Hull Ionians back to the Athletic Ground, KO 3pm
There will be the usual 3 course lunch available beforehand and although we have managed to hold the price for the last couple of years I am afraid that it has been necessary to increase the cost this year by a relatively small amount to £26/head – but it will still include Harry Hooper’s excellent programme which is always well worth a read.
Please advise if you wish to book in – and I would mention that it will of course be new President, John Heaton’s first lunch ‘on duty’ and an opportunity for you all to see him in action. No pressure there then!!

Membership Subscriptions and Season Tickets 2015/16
Membership/RAA Privilege cards for 2015/16 are in hand and will be sent out next week if all goes according to plan together with the Members Fixture booklet and Goalposts.
That is of course if you have paid your membership – if not, now is the time! Click here for details and please do consider paying by Direct Debit as it really does help our Membership Secretary Richard Carswell.
And if you wish to order a Season Ticket and take advantage of the discount on match entrance that affords then that can also be done on line although a separate Direct Debit will need to be set up

Donate those old boots to a good cause
As thoughts turn to kitting out the kids for the new school year and the realisation dawns that feet seem to grow like weeds during the summer, please may I remind you of our request for any old boots that have been outgrown.
RFC is delighted to be affiliated with Southwark Tigers Rugby Club for the new season – a club which is run by an inspirational team of volunteers and provides rugby for kids growing up in some of the most deprived areas of the capital. They need boots for the kids who are unable to afford to buy their own, so all donations would be most gratefully received.
If you are unable to get them to me beforehand then just bring them along when the new season starts
