Richmond v Bishop’s Stortford Sat 29th August
This Saturday 29th August the FIRST XV play their last pre-season game at home against old friends Bishop’s Stortford KO 3pm. The VIKINGS and SAXONS are also at home to Esher II KO 1pm and Bishops’ Stortford II KO 2.30pm respectively.  Unfortunately the pre-season games the NORMANS and WOMEN 1st XV had hoped for have failed to materialise but it promises to be a very lively afternoon so please do come along to view the old and new talent on show as well as catch up with friends after the summer break.
The bars will of course be open and a BBQ will be on going to provide more substantial fare.

Plymouth Albion v Richmond Sat 5th September KO 3pm
The season proper begins next Saturday 5th September and the FIRST XV do not have an easy start as the first game is away to Plymouth Albion who have just come down from the Championship and will no doubt be intent on getting back up there as quickly as possible.
Match KO will be at 3pm and the team will be travelling by train catching the 9.06 from Paddington arriving 12.26, with coach transfer to and from the ground, and returning on the 19.18 from Plymouth arriving Paddington 22.28.
For those who are making the long journey South West if you wish to book in for the pre-match lunch then email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or phone 01752 565064

Richmond V Hull Ionians Sat 12th September KO 3pm
The first home game of the new season will be on Saturday 12th September when the FIRST XV welcome Hull Ionians back to the Athletic Ground, KO 3pm
There will be the usual 3 course lunch available beforehand and although we have managed to hold the price for the last couple of years I am afraid that it has been necessary to increase the cost this year by a relatively small amount to £26/head – but it will still include Harry Hooper’s excellent programme which is always well worth a read.
Please advise if you wish to book in – and I would mention that it will of course be new President, John Heaton’s first lunch ‘on duty’ and an opportunity for you all to see him in action. No pressure there then!!

Mini/Youth Registration Day Sun 6th September
OPRO mouth-guard fittings Sun 13th September
A reminder that of course next Sunday 6th September is Mini and Youth Registration Day from 9.30am for the Minis and 11.30am for the Youth
And OPRO will be making their annual visit to take mouth guard fittings the following Sunday 13th September

Membership Subscriptions and Season Tickets 2015/16
I am delighted to report that the first batch of Membership/RAA Privilege cards for 2015/16 will be sent out today Friday together with the Members Fixture booklet and Goalposts.
Many thanks to Sharon Whitehead for editing yet another excellent edition of the newsletter and of course to Tim Mott and his team for producing it – not to mention Richard Carswell and Julie Craig who masterminded the mailshot with a little help from Simon Barber who dropped in to pay his subs and was immediately seconded to the production line! All massively appreciated.
Further cards will go out next week assuming of course that you have paid your membership – if not, now is the time! Click here for details and please do consider paying by Direct Debit as it really does help our Membership Secretary Richard Carswell.
And if you wish to order a Season Ticket and take advantage of the discount on match entrance that affords then that can also be done on line although a separate Direct Debit will need to be set up.

General & Medical – get private healthcare at discounted rates
I would draw your attention to the leaflet included in the mailing from Club Partner, General & Medical Healthcare, who are offering members and supporters of Richmond FC the chance to buy Private Health Insurance at discounted rates. Full details can be found in the leaflet or alternatively, please click on the following link: www.generalandmedical.com/richmondfc or look for General and Medical Healthcare under “Club Partners” in the Sponsorship area of the club website

Shop News
I am delighted to report that delivery of the new season’s stock is imminent – and the shop is looking very sharp after the summer refurb by kit sponsors Canterbury. It will be open for business next weekend when the season starts proper – opening times tba

Donate those old boots to a good cause
RFC is delighted to be affiliated with Southwark Tigers Rugby Club for the new season – a club which is run by an inspirational team of volunteers and provides rugby for kids growing up in some of the most deprived areas of the capital. They need boots for the kids who are unable to afford to buy their own, so donations of all good quality second hand boots would be most gratefully received. Just bring them along when you can from this weekend onward when I take up my usual semi-permanent residence at the club!
