This Saturday, 4th November, the Richmond Rugby ‘Club Day’ is set to take centre stage at the RAG. With five adult teams competing at home, it promises to be a day filled with an electrifying rugby atmosphere. With a pre-match DJ, our largest guard of honour and a special hospitality deal 2 courses for £25, it’s sure to be a brilliant day of Richmond Rugby action!
Here’s a glimpse of the thrilling lineup:
1. Vikings vs Rams (1:00 PM): The Vikings are ready to kick off the day as they face Rams II. The last time these teams clashed was in March 2023, with the Vikings winning 32-19. The Vikings currently hold the top spot, and they’re eyeing their sixth consecutive win in the HALBRO Raging Bull Shield – Division 1.
2. Saxons vs Barnes 2nd XV (1:30 PM): Next up, the Saxons play local rivals Barnes 2nd XV. Their last encounter was last season in April 2023; the Saxons won 34-28, who will be looking to make it another victory on Saturday. The Saxons occupy the 4th position, while Barnes 2nd XV sits at 2nd in the HALBRO Raging Bull Shield – Division 1.
3. Heavies vs London Irish (1:30 PM): Simultaneously, the Heavies will face London Irish. Last November, the Heavies won 31-14 in their last clash and will be looking to replicate this result.
4. Normans vs Horsham Lions (2:15PM): Following these matches, the Normans will challenge Horsham Lions. In their previous encounter last season in March 2023, Horsham came out 33-7 winners therefore the Normans will look to gain the upper hand this weekend. The Normans hold the 3rd position, while Horsham Lions are in 6th place in the London Counties & South Coast Premiership.
5. Richmond 1st XV vs Cinderford (3:00PM): The grand finale of the day will see the Richmond 1st XV play Cinderford on Pitch 1, promising to be a fantastic spectacle in front of a large crowd. In their previous meeting in February 2020, Richmond secured a 25-10 victory and will be aiming for a similar result this Saturday. Richmond currently sit in 5th spot in National League 1, while Cinderford are positioned 8th.
But the excitement doesn’t end on Saturday! On Sunday, the Richmond Women’s team will travel to play against Bath Ladies, coming off a historic win against Old Albanians Ladies last Sunday, thanks to a last-minute Courtney Treco try. Richmond Women are in 2nd spot looking to take top spot, with Bath Ladies in 5th place in the Women’s Championship South 1.
