Assistant Groundsperson
The RAG is a 26 acre, 7 pitch estate in SW London. We are home to rugby union club Richmond, as well as many other Clubs, incorporating rugby union, rugby league, football and various other sports and tournaments.
We are now recruiting for a hard working grounds person, to work within the Estates team.
You will need to be proficient in the safe and efficient use of all machinery, and have a basic service and repair knowledge of all of these machines. Experience of using travelling irrigators would be a distinct advantage. As well as the day to day tasks such as mowing, marking out, fertilising, and all of the necessary maintenance requirements, you will need to be experienced in pitch renovations and growing in.
In addition to these requirements, you will be expected to carry out other such duties, as may be reasonably required by the direction of the Head Groundsman or General Manager.
Reporting directly to the Head Groundsman, you will demonstrate self-motivation, good organisation skills and time management. You must be able to work independently as well as part of a small team.
• Qualifications preferably, though non qualified candidates may be considered depending on experience.
• Full driving licence would be advantageous.
• Salary dependent on qualifications and experience.
• Hours of work: 40 hrs per week with regular overtime available throughout the whole year. • Must be prepared to work anti-social hours and weekends.

Caretaker/steward
Part time caretaker/steward required for a busy sports ground in Richmond upon Thames.
You will be the weekend face of the venue and the go to person for all visitors and enquires. The main part of the role is to manage and monitor the weekend activity, allocating and supervising visiting teams and respective changing rooms. To manage the security perspective for external lets, and liase with stewards, safety officer and match officials for all 1st team events. You will be required to keep the site clean and presentable at all times, and be responsible for all external areas and changing rooms. For certain events you will be the site manager, with all vendors accessing the site via you. You will be a key holder, and at times be in charge of opening and or closing the venue.
You will be part of a bigger team, but you must be able to work autonomously and think on your feet.
