Richmond hit the road this weekend to take on Sedgley Park in a crucial away fixture as the title race intensifies. Sitting 10th in the table, Sedgley Park will be eager to test themselves against the league leaders, but Richmond arrive full of confidence after a dominant 54-0 victory over Plymouth Albion—snapping their 10-game winning streak.
The last meeting between these sides came in November at the Richmond Athletic Ground, where Richmond secured a hard-fought 21-6 win. With just a handful of games remaining, every point is vital as Richmond look to extend their five-point lead at the top.
Henry Wills re-joins the starting XV this week, while Lucas Schmid returns to the matchday squad. With this the only exception Richmond stick with the same winning side as they aim to carry their momentum forward.
Sedgley Park will pose their own threats, particularly through league-leading try scorer Rhys Henderson. The winger has crossed the whitewash 18 times this season and will be a key danger man in their attack. Richmond’s defensive resilience will need to be at its best to contain him.
Kick-off is at 2:30pm. Follow along on our social media channels. Coverage will be provided on X (formerly known as Twitter) RichmondFC1861, Instagram and Facebook!
